How about the "rules of the game" also by Neil Strauss...a lot of useful stuff inside, even if you're not a newbie anymore...
Man I'll tell you what, The Rules of the Game are a LIFE SAVER. It is sheer genius. I followed all the steps, every day with the "Little White Book" : Master the Game in 30 Days and it did wonders for me. No such thing as AA anymore for me. The exercises work. I especially had a lot of success with the vocal portion which taught me how to slow down my speach and make it more clear. "The Little Black Book" : The Style Diary is a must keep, pocket guide. Several rules and stories to go off of. Of course you never want to carry it with you when sarging, but keep it in a pocket during work, sneak a read here and there. Keeps you fresh. I have to say though and this is funny, I bought this two book set at Barnes and Noble and this was after I finished The Game. They kept it behind the counter, you know, like a porno mag or something at a quicky mart for adults. This old lady looked at it, looked at me, rang it up then proceeded to say as I walked out, "Good luck."
