Talking about sex in a detached and offhand way, and then easing it into
more revealing specifics

Read it in Carlos Xuma's Secret to the Alpha Male, he mentioned sophisticated flirting but I don't think i've ever done this type of flirting.
What does it mean?

Taking a stab in a dark(no pun intended)... Talking about sex in a non personal way nearer the start of the conversation "My friend went to Ibitha and..." and getting more personal as the conversation progresses "So personally I prefer giving oral sex than recieving it, what about you?"

As I have said this really is a stab in a dark and my own interpretation, but then again that may just be the point of the statement. Either way feel free to completely disreguard my comment.

In conversation Sexual innuendos is a possible outcome of what your question may mean..... teasing each other about the subject and beating around the push (you both know what you mean, but neither of you ever admit it) and then easy into conversatoin closer to home with more specific sexual remarks.

now i could be completly wrong, its just a guess

Some modern examples of innuendo include sexual references to human body parts. For example, a woman might attempt to purchase some groceries (in this example, watermelons) and a man might say, "Boy, those are some nice melons you have there." This statement factually describes watermelons; although as opposed to double entendre the man's statement only implies that he was referring to the woman's breasts when the recipient understands. When innuendo is used in a sentence, it could go completely undetected by someone who was not familiar with the hidden meaning, and he or she would find nothing odd about the sentence. Perhaps because innuendo is not considered offensive to those who do not "get" the hidden implication, it is often used in sitcoms and other comedy which would otherwise be considered unsuitable for children. Children would find this comedy funny, but because most children lack understanding of the hidden implication in innuendo, they would find it funny for a completely different reason from most adult viewers.
