she included the xo which is hugs and kisses. is this too ambiguous to judge. how due i keep her interested while she is overseas without seeming clingy and desperate. i really like her. i didn't build much rapport so can't expect a very gushing email but "staying in touch" feels like the kiss of death????

I'd bar her, and only reply to her own efforts of communication. When she gets back, just start from scratch again.
