how much is to much eye contact? i was in a computer store today talking to a sales assistant probably about a HB6. we were having a good talk and i was trying out some new body language techniques. the main one that i tried was eye contact. to start off i was just keeping eye contact for a short while but towards the end of the conversation i was looking her directly in the eyes for quite a period of time say what felt like a good 20-30 sec. she didnt seam to mind but i felt a bit strange.
so my question is:
how much is to much eye contact?

I'm just a newbie so make what you will of my advice....

But, the first thing I did was work on my eye contact. Basically, just keep looking directly into their eyes and don't stop. I know, it feels wierd at first but keep at it. Just maintaining their eye contact and smiling shows in confidence and interest in what they're saying. My interactions with women have improved greatly just by doing this.

Only break contact by looking up, or to the side, like when you're thinking about something. Never break contact by looking down unless their is a specific reason for doing so - eg you're showing them something on a table you're sitting at.

Hope that helps :D

yeah man, eye contact is very important. just smile and keep eye contact. make sure you look relaxed though because if you arent then you could come across as creepy...
also, if you keep good eye contact, and she doesnt break it either, then you can break eye contact when she does a DLV or if she fails a compliance test etc to show disinterest for a quick second or so.

and dont EVER look down.

If you are smiling and in a laid back mood, then keep it as long as possible. Only cut it if there is something more important to look at at the moment.

It very important to be congruent when you make eye contact. If you seem too nervous and you make eye contact for too long anyway, you may seem creepy. It's very important that you get comfortable doing it, and that you do it calmly and naturally. Eventually it will become natural, and part of your habits that you don't have to think about doing.
