Unless she knows how pickup works, pivots are dangerous. Wings have to be carefully selected. They can easily lower your value by subconsciously being jackasses.

i was thinking of using her to create jealousy with my target once we're in isolation...
example:
im sitting on a couch with my target, i get up "to go to the bar". i come back and a minute later my pivot/ex comes and sits next to me and kino's me a bit, which should spark jealousy in my target... i think. obviously i wont mention to her that she's my ex... but my ex and i are really close and she also happens to be one of the hottest girls i know, so it'll help with social proof and preselection at the very least...

The role of the wing and pivot are completely different.

As long as your game is tight, you can grab just about anybody and instruct him to play his part. Mostly, all he does is assist and help isolate your target. Even the most AA prone guys are usually willing to sit there and chat with your cock block for 5 minutes if you work the whole situation for him. A "jackass" as a wingman isn't usually problem as you can use him as a reference point to demonstrate how cool YOU are.

In regards to pivots, hell, you can grab your grandma as a pivot. Now of course, it does help if the pivot is somewhat good looking and sociable. Plenty of routines with a pivot but one good one is to just go out and tell hb's that she's your ex and that you're cool with it. Shows your confident, not needy and happy to play the field.

I disagree with Kasabi. It is important to choose your Pivot carefully. She can not lower your value by being of low value herself. She needs to play her part and understand what she is supposed to do. Social proof and preselection is only a small part... She can also open sets, she can manage AMOGs and cockblocks. And she can confirm your stories. She can also mention your achievements that you are too modest to tell about yourself. She needs to know what she is doing! And it is a plus if she is good looking.

As long as you have game, you can find an instant pivot at a bar within minutes that will take you a loooong way. Unless the girl you choose is absolute the only 1 in the bar, you can make it work. Actually, I'm willing to bet that I could find a way to leverage an hb 1 to my advantage.

Hey Kasabi... Such girls exist. I did not say that it is easy to find them but some actually think it is quite fun.
I am merely pointing out the difference between a female friend and a pivot. A female friend is a girl who does not know anything about gaming and a pivot knows. The pivot does not necessarily need to actively do anything but she can avoid destroying your game by understanding what you are doing.
And I do like cookies. Some time ago I brought a pivot to a party where she spent her time sitting in my lap feeding me chocolate while I was gaming another girl.
