Ah, seen. Well, from my experience, Asian cliques tend to be pretty tight-looped (no racism intended, just observation). However, the key is to find the element that gives them a reason/need to go outside of their loop, whether it's academic, social, or religious (you wouldn't be the first dude to become Buddhist for a week...). English skills are the obvious one, but with this one Vietnamese girl I dated way back when, it happened that we were both studying IT, and I happened to be the shit when it came to IT. So I was able to give subtle hints to her that I - the friggin Yoda of our course - was open to sharing his knowledge with her. In just a few days, she was bringing me homemade Vietnamese food to class, and not long after that, she was showing me the different ways I could break in my futon

The key is that "traditionally Asian girls" are like any other socially conservative types - you just need to work a little harder to justify why they should leave their social circle...
