Ok, here is the thing. My front teeth are crooked, nothing too major, but certainly noticable, and something I am conscious of.

Other than that I am a fairly good looking guy (nothing special) and am 6 foot 2" and wealthy... oh, and 26 years old.

here is my question, i just recently became single, after a long relationship (6 years) and my dental work would require a brace for 14-18 months...

Am I better off focusing on picking up girls as I am now, and sort the dental work out at say aged 30? Or am I better of getting it started ASAP, even with the fact that I will have to wear braces for 14+ months?

I suppose I am trying to say: bad teeth vs braces, which is more of a turnoff? And am I best to put off the dental work for a couple of years?

By the way, I am not from America, so they are not quite as into straight, white teeth over here.

You've lived with your teeth as they are for a third of your life why change now? The only person that can make your teeth an issue for attracting girls is going to be you by acting conscious about them. It's all a mind set, focus on your good features and not your bad ones.

In response to the bigger turnoff... Braces are definately more noticeable and a bigger turn off, what's worse is that it shows that you're conscious about your own faults and that's sub-consciously a DLV to a girl.

That's just my opinion

Hehe bud I was in the same position.

My teeth were about a 7/10 not crooked but not perfect. So my parents wouldn't pay for my braces. So I saved up, worked for them. Bought them myself (nearly 3k) last easter. (I am almost 20). Honestly it is more of a self concious thing, I was successful through my freshman year of college with crooked teeth, and I am still with braces. Women don't really care. (Just be hygenic.)

Now, I am a sophmore in college, and if you want see judgemental girls here is the place. Yet, I am still successful. I use them as a DHV while I talk to them. I know girls are looking at them and it makes me look younger. So I make it a point to mention it. It shows confidence and maturity. I tell girls it was my own choice, I saved up, and didn't have mommy and daddy pay for them, therefore making my value go up. I can also neg them by saying "sorry I have to work for my stuff, I don't get everything handed to me from mommy and daddy."

It's deffinately worth it man, I am from America, but when I get my braces off this december, get my teeth whitened and sexy'd up. It will deffinately be a HUGE confidence builder. If you are really into PUA a white clean smile should be the first thing on your list. You have ten years on me, but look at it this way. You want to meet a girl who is going to appreciate you for who you are, not judge you by your own decision to correct your teeth.

I tend to disagree. ANY DLV that happens is because of your own mindset or your own mistake. They will look at you younger, but the same thing as in dating older women. Just say (you're not one to judge by a number) and it is out of the question. The whole point of PUA is to make any judgement about you that could possibly be DLV into a DHV.

Ive got this doubt too

my front tooths

this one -> uuuu <- this one
are a bit crooked
they are only noticeable if you see me smiling from the side

I guess most girls didnt even notice that..

to fix it would be one year or one year and a half probably...
ive used bracers before, but I hated it so much, my self-steem got so low
I dont know, from my judgement, theres people that look good with bracers, people who it doesnt make any difference and people that look bad, my case was the bad looking, so I hated...
maybe cause Ive already look younger, or maybe its was just in my head =p

I think Ill still fix.. but not now

I don't want to rip on you guys or anything. But why not now? If your posting about it, it clearly bothers you. So just fucking change it. Who cares? I mean if you guys don't look at yourself like your a perfect 10, why don't you make it so you do? Anything that you can be self concious about, that is CHANGE able... why wouldn't you do it asap?

I can speak from experience: I got my braces at the end of grade 10 and had to put up with them for 2 damn years. And yeah, it's pretty miserable. That doesn't mean that it's impossible to game with em, it's just an impediment. However, when I got those fuckers off, I had perfect teeth which not only looked better, but helped my confidence. Women may not be saying "damn, that guy has perfect teeth", but your smile looks better. And it also helps your own self-esteem, because it's obvious that it's weighing on your mind if you're struggling with the thought of it. My advice: it's gonna suck for a while, but I think it's worth it.

P.S. Also look at some of those less obvious options like Invisalign or those clear braces. I had to wear those nasty metal clunkers, and I would've shit myself if those other products were around in my day...

I've wondering about the same thing. I'm thinking of getting the invisalign braces though. They are more expensive, but they're invisable and removable. You said your wealthy, you should look into them if your worried about traditional braces.

thanks guys, seems it divided opinion.

Some points:

I had a brace when I was a kid, and it was removable, so I never wore it properly.

Yes, I want to fix it, but it will use up two years of my life, I am not a teenager anymore. In an ideal world, I would like to go and pickup some hot girls, and then if I settle down with one, then I will get the dental work done.

I think I will give it 6 months, and then do it regardless.

Thanks

PS: Yes, I have looked into the invisi ones, they are still visible though, it is only the wires that are clear, the metal attachments on the teeth are still metal.

hey there, same problem kind of, got it fixed fairly easily, lookup INVISALIGN and INMAN ALIGNER. im using the inman aligner, wear it for about 18 hrs a day, SPAM lasts for around 2 months, really does works. after that u just wear this mouth guard at night for a while. as long as you stick with the SPAM you'll be fine. really would recommend it for you.
fast, dont have to wear it when your out sarging or on a date or at work, i never eally did a full 18hrs but kinda compensated with wearing it more on other days.

I heard about the Inman aligner this morning, but from what I can tell, it is only for slightly crowded teeth, mine are pretty bad.

I will deffo look into it though, sounds like a great middle ground.
