my 2c. you want to listen to what they say and adjust accordingly while not losing your frame. so she was confused? why? whats wrong?
and washing old people is not cute, washing little puppies is. suggesting that she has a sexual interest in them is just a turn off and seems forced. imagine yourself bedding your grannie ... got it? is that arousing? does it make you feel good? guess not. from my experience, try not to hard to be interesting, be interested instead and if you find things during the convo that are funny then drop a comment on it, but do not force it.
