What is involved in people talking and interacting. Lets break it down. Here are the parts required.

-A sender(the person speaking)
-A receiver (person listening)
-A channel (line of communication that can be opened or closed)
-A code (a means of communicating either spoken or unspoken)
-A context (the setting in which the communication takes place)
-The message itself (a particular construction of the code)

In PU and Game this maps to:

-PUA
-Target
-Approach and Opening
-Speaking, Body Language
-Frame
-DHV/Qualification

Every move we make, and every thing we say to our audience focuses on one of the six parts. We have developed methodology and techniques to make each part more efficient.

-Avatar building/self improvement
-Selectivity and theoretically the entirety of Game itself
-Canned lines, Inner Game, 3 second rule
-Voice Coaching, Posture Control, Eye Contact, Merging, Jealousy Plot lines
-Frame Control, Amogging, Reaction control
-DHV storytelling, Routines, EV

Great! You have your list and are ready to roll. Go ahead, have fun. You will. You'll experience a modicum of success with these techniques. I won't lie. Seriously, take your time with it, then come back when you are finished...

Done? Ok, you're probably wondering what's next. Good, you're evolving. Always a good thing. Notice that what you said wasn't as important as how you said it, and how you looked when you said it? This is the core of the Natural's game. This is the next evolutionary step you will make. It is necessary, so do it. What methods, techniques, and views are available for this transformation. Here are some unnatural ways to be natural in reference to our aforementioned 6 parts.

-Constantly improve your life. Make lists of things to do to better your overall style and life.
-Drop selectivity, you are now using these techniques to make everyone like you
-You open with smiles and 'Hi's seemingly reverting to AFC lines. Your confidence makes it work no matter what
-Continue with meditative techniques and further work on your inner game.
-Internalize the concepts of frame control and build confidence so your frame stands unopposed
-Drop the routines and DHV stories. Replace them with further demonstrations of your personality through unscripted conversation

This process of becoming an unnatural natural is a long one. You'll find yourself falling back on material and routines. You'll want to use your tried and true openers at times. But slowly you will realize that you now have enough within you to support you. These lines and methods were just a helping hand to get you through the beginning. Let go, it's time to walk on your own. Now go practice for awhile. Realize your confidence and personal worth is what has been winning the hard sets, not material. Yes, you are your own engine, not the routines and lines. You are now a self sufficient PUA. Congratulations, not many get this far. You have become an (un)natural.

Oh! Your back! Looking for the next step? Well, look at the next post in the series. That's where it gets interesting.

Welcome to the second installment.

You've been having a lot of fun, I can tell. That smirk left from memories of last night. That hungry look for the night to come. Yeah, you love it. I know, because we all do. So lets refresh ourselves on the six parts of a Game interaction:

-Sender -PUA
-Receiver -Target
-Channel -Approach and Opening
-Code -Speaking, Body Language
-Context -Frame
-Message -DHV/Qualification

And our methods of dealing with them in the first stage of PU evolution.

-Avatar building/self improvement
-Selectivity and theoretically the entirety of Game itself
-Canned lines, Inner Game, 3 second rule
-Voice Coaching, Posture Control, Eye Contact, Merging, Jealousy Plot lines
-Frame Control, Amogging, Reaction control
-DHV storytelling, Routines, EV

and in the second stage (un)naturalism:

-Constantly improve your life. Make lists of things to do to better your overall style and life.
-Drop selectivity, you are now using these techniques to make everyone like you
-Open with smiles and 'Hi's. Your confidence makes it work no matter what you say.
-Continue with meditative techniques and further work on your inner game.
-Internalize the concepts of frame control and build confidence so your frame stands unopposed
-Drop routines. Use demonstrations of your personality through unscripted conversation

We have now climbed out of the primordial mating ooze and now stand tall. But we aren't happy just stopping. We strive. We improve. EXCELSIOR!

You'll notice that evolution in game is about efficiency. It simplifies itself in the second stage. Seemingly, (un)naturalism is almost entirely confidence and inner game. Its true. So how do we become better?

Social Game/Entourage Game

This was originally going to be a post in response to AFCAdam's Webinar. He spoke at length about social circle game and got the ball rolling so to speak in my head.

Social circle game is an evolutionary step in the growth of a PUA. It is probably the most noticeable development in Game. Why? Because it simplifies the entirety of game into one technique:

Have a social circle with you.

How does this work? What are the mechanics of this? How is it different from just regular Social Proof you can pick up at the venue?

Social Circle Game is not just social proof you bring with you. If we accept pivots as an unknowing pawn, used to exhibit social proof (i.e. A previous night's success used to fuel tonight's success), then a social circle is a number of previous successes used as unknowing pawns, or, as Mystery put it, “Using last month's successes to fuel tonight's!”

I think he is half right.

A social circle functions are very different from that of a pivot. The increased numbers shifts the affect your group will have on the venue. For example, if you roll into a bar with 20 girls, you will be treated much differently by the management, and received more amicably by all patrons. You have brought the party so to speak. Do not discount this effect. Two or three people coming into a venue is nothing compared to the party that requires tables to be moved, comps to be given, and numerous staff to take care of them. But how does it relate to our model. Pay attention this is important.

Dual Coding:

Dual-coding theory, a theory of cognition, was first advanced by Allan Paivio of the University of Western Ontario. The theory postulates that both visual and verbal information are processed differently and along distinct channels with the human mind creating separate representations for information processed in each channel. Both visual and verbal codes for representing information are used to organize incoming information into knowledge that can be acted upon, stored, and retrieved for subsequent use.
Each channel also has limitations. For example, humans have difficulty simultaneously attending to multiple auditory or visual cues, depending on expertise with the task or prior knowledge with the subject area. For example, a television documentary that shows images of plant and animal life in a rain forest while also simultaneously providing narration that describes the animal life could potentially provide for improved learning using the dual-code theory because the visual and verbal information does not compete with each other.
A multimedia presentation that shows multiple visuals such as an image of a speaker as well as the text that the speaker is reading, such as a series of bullet points, could overwhelm the viewer, depending on the person and the situation, because the viewer must now attend to two images.
According to Paivio, mental images are analogue codes, while the verbal representation of words are symbolic codes. Analogue codes represent the physical stimuli we observe in our environment, such as trees and rivers. These codes are a form of knowledge representation that retains the main perceptual features of what is being observed. Symbolic codes, on the other hand, are a form of knowledge representation chosen to represent something arbitrarily, as opposed to perceptually. Similar to the way a watch may represent information in the form of numbers to display the time, symbolic codes represent information in our mind in the form of arbitrary symbols, like words and combinations of words, to represent several ideas.

That is taken from the Wiki entry on Dual coding.

So how does this map to the model?
A present social circle functions as the Visual component in a dual coded exchange with a target. That is, they hear what you say to others, thus gaining a perception of your personality, as well as being given a visual representation of your personality through your interactions with your friends.

PU is, when boiled down, education. You are the teacher. The target is the student. Your job is to teach the target that you are a person they want to be with in whatever way you desire (i.e. Friends, lovers, acquaintance etc.). You develop your curriculum. Then you apply it. In the first evolution, you taught them through explanation. You told her how to interact with you, while using training wheels. In the second stage, you told her the same thing, only this time you used the non-verbal channel more than the verbal. You showed her and told her. In this third step, you have the advantage of your social circle. In this evolution, you will tell her, and your group scene will show her. The advantage is in numbers. One person showing her that they are worth her time, is not nearly as effective as multiple people showing her how fun you are to be around. Think of it this way. If you see one person laughing at a performance, you may check it out. But if you see thirty people laughing at the same performance, you will feel a stronger pull to at least investigate.

So go out and build your social circle. The more the merrier. You can never have enough people surrounding you and building your value in a venue. Remember to take these people with you. Try it. Then come check back for the next installment...
