Now, I don't necessarily have to peacock when I'm going out, right? Because, I really don't feel like doing it. From what I have read, it's more like peacock-theory, meaning, that I suppose you could get by without it. Even though having one special item may help, such as a nice watch you are wearing, or a necklace, etc. Anyway, I made this topic, because I was wondering if the guys who have been doing this for a while, could share where they first started? What was your first opener, your first gaming public gathering? I think this could be beneficial to new guys like myself, who are interested in getting into the game.
Also, I have another question. When starting out, do you start by just practicing each phase? For example, only practice A1 for a while? Then when you get comfortable, you move into A2?
Another fear that I have, is some girl saying to me "Are you trying to pick me up? You sound like one of those guys on that VH1 show." Even though I already made a topic regarding this kinda of situation, it makes it a little tough for me to actually go out there and get started.
If people could give me some good openers to actually use, and I'm not talking about old openers that have been used too much to be easily recognized, then I might actually try them.
Also, what are the guide lines for making a good opener?
If anyone could help me with these questions, I think not only would it be beneficial to me, but a lot of new guys could benefit from this too. Thanks.
