the outcome of life is:

10% what happens around you

15% what happens to you

75% how you react to it

"There'd always be somebody that shoot down any dream
There'll always be haters, that's the way it is
Haters niggaz marry hater bitches and have hater kids
But they're gonna have to take my life before they take my drive
'cause when I was barely living, that's what kept me alive"

We are all prisoners at one time or another in our lives, prisoners to ourselves or to the expectations of those around us. It is a burden that all people endure, that all people despise, and that few people ever learn to escape.
--R. A. Salvatore

Sometimes glass glitters more than diamonds because it has more to prove.
--Terry Pratchett

Here's an easy one that's stuck with me for years. It really applies to AA, etc...

You are the architect of your own imprisonment.

Read it in a book somewhere. Shalom.

On Alonzo Harris' Arm (Denzel Washington), one of the main characters in the movie "Training Day", there's a part where you see one of the tattoo's he has that says -

"Life is not promised, but death is."

I think that is very motivational by basically saying, make the absolute best of what you have while you still have it, and always strive to be the best you can possibly make yourself no matter what it may be.

"Keep steadily before you the fact that all true success depends at last upon yourself."
- Theodore T. Hunger

Incredible quote that states, you must acknowledge what you've done. If you screw up a set, you can ALWAYS learn from your mistakes. Success will eventually come, no matter how many failures you encounter.

"The mind that is anxious about future events is miserable."
-Seneca

3-second rule, guys. Don't fear the future, only worry about the present, because only the present can decide the future.

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Willing is not enough; we must do."
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

This is great. It's not enough to know the pick-up arts, you must apply them to become successful. It's not enough to say, "Yeah I could approach her", you must physically approach them to become successful.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings about total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." -Dune

Came across this one on Cajun's blog and, while I'm generally very skeptical about the power of a small, simple statement to completely change someone's sense of self-confidence or self-efficacy, I have to admit this has had an effect on me.

Guy: Cajun, whats your mindframe when going out to meet women?
Cajun: Well, I don’t actually go out with the specific intention of meeting women, but if I was to verbalize my mindframe it would be: To have drinks with my friends and fuck with people, this also happens to be conducive to meeting women.

It's essentially something that's been stated a million times before... 'don't go out with the intention of picking up women' but I just love the way he puts it :D

Clothes make the man. Naked people have no influence over society. – Mark Twain

When we reflect on this struggle, we may console ourselves with the full belief, that the war of nature is not incessant, that no fear is felt, that death is generally prompt, and that the vigorous, the healthy and the happy survive. –Charles Darwin
