BCShorty, it's a good opener, but far from original. They get very bored and even irritated by that.
Try completely ignoring the accent, if you have to give her a compliment on something, and I advise against it, compliment her sense of style. If she's European, she's very proud of it, even if she freaking looks like any other chick there.
When you find out where she's from, if she mentiones it, it's a good idea to mention something that you know well about the country. Don't mention anything that you're not sure about. If you say something like, I've been there, I've read/heard about something specific, and it's correct or interesting, you will build reppertoar as a savvy, well traveled, well connected interesting guy. If you flop, and say something that's untrue, or lame and unoriginal, you'll c&b pretty fast.
I find it pretty easy to walk up to foreign girls. They love talking about what the miss about their country, but that comes in the comfort stage.
Nice way to get her to validate herself is to say "well, besides the fact that you can't prononce your "r's" right, and a better fashion sense than most the girls here, tell me another three things that make you interesting".
Even subconsciously they feel that they need to validate themselves for even being in US.
Works like a charm.
nice, yeah I agree. I like your accent is played out.
