I found out today I don't have herpes, its just a stress related thing.
Thank god. Though its still fucking hideous
Congrats and I think you should give yourself a pat on the back for putting in the effort to go get checked out. It only took a second to make that decision I bet, you were thinking about it and then you made the decision and you decided it was important and had to be done!
This is something you need to recognize man, because this is how basically every decision in life works, whether you mull it over for a while or not, the choice to follow through is a split second one and then you make the commitment not to turn back afterwards. If you keep this in mind, you can use that power to make all sorts of decisions.
You associated tremendous pain with the possibility of having herpes and not getting checked out and what might have happened, the pain you would have in the future and the pain you would cause others, emotionally and physically in both cases. Then you realised that you could get pleasure by finding out whether it was or wasn't herpes and you would relieve tons of stress and feel better about yourself.
This is EXACTLY what Tony Robins talks about in Awaken the Giant Within and how to motivate yourself to accomplish just about anything. You remember those two key things and you'll be able to change any belief, change any behaviour you want to.
NOW, let's talk about that stress, shall we? Part of that stress was probably a result of thinking that it may be herpes and the initial cause could have been stress from something else, or just from some random occurrance; happens all the time and then our mind perpetuates the ailment we believe we have and the stress causes it to worsen and stick around, when it would have naturally cleared up. So, now that you know you're clean, take a deep breath and let all that stress out. Figure out what other stresses may be affecting you and look for ways to relieve yourself of that stress. You'll probably still have to deal with whatever it is that's stressing you, but
realise that you have the ability to choose not to be stressed!
I know you can do it and now you know you can do it, so get 'er done!
