Just a little point:
The contact you maintain and initiate between dates also acts to steer the relationship to its end destination, ranging from 'exclusive to each other' to 'friends with benefits'. So when deciding what contact you are going to initiate bear in mind what kind of relationship you ultimately want with this girl.
Great advice!
If you are looking for more of a friends with benifits sort of thing, then friendly messages and talk about stuff you would to a friend when things come up, but don't be talking to her all the time, or she will feel like you are looking for more and when you hang out and it's appropriate, then sexual escalation.
If you are looking for a fuck buddy, then the only time you're gonna be calling/texting them, is to send some flirty sexual stuff, or to arrange to hook up.
If you are looking for a relationship, but something not exclusive and highly serious, then text/phone if you don't talk for a couple days and discuss things that you would on a date with her, or that you did/will discuss on a date. Keep it light and fun, but don't forget to flirt and keep some sexual tension so that she is anticipating the next time you can get together/call, because you won't be talking to her ALL the time, just every second or third day if you've got the time, but there are always exceptions and times when you may be bored and have some time to kill, so it's fine to chat for a bit then, just don't make a habit of it. When things get routine, then that's when it becomes more like a serious exclusive relationship.
As I said, if you want serious and exclusive, then contact is gonna be more frequent, at least every second or third day, in some cases more than once a day is acceptable. I had a girl that would text me while she was at work and I would respond, she would call me on her way home and at night as well, but that was only because we were exclusive.
