Why do guys cut off the physical part of the friendship so abruptly?

Because it's easier than doing it slowly?

I dunno. Why on earth would you cut off the physical part of a friendship?

Are we talking in any particular context or just in general?

If generically I would wonder at what stage this is done? Potentially when they find out you have more game and are more assertive than they are, and their inner scared-child comes out to play.
