You are taking charge that way and they will be less likely to flake.
I think it's pretty critical to talk to her over the phone first. Honestly, don't be setting up dates strictly on IM people. That's stupid.
On the phone yes. IM not the best idea, but I set up dates via text all the time... honestly its the only way women really talk around here. I think a phone call in his situation is probably better, but he can use what I wrote as a text, im or on the phone...
Bottom line is that online dating should be your second option, real world should be your first.... Get off the damn computer and get out there and sarge!!!
