how can i properly avoid this when someone asks me "who do you like?" when its in a friendly environment or obviously if i were to say a name, the girl would go to her friend and mension who it is. What are some possible directions to take when someone asks you this question? i wouldnt mind saying who i like, but i think it would be best to make it a mystery no? doesnt it take the excitment out if someone knew in person if i liked them or not, or how does this go?

Tell them you like them all and can't make up your mind. That'll get them qualifying for your attention more.

i think it worked because her asking you that usually meant she was interested. take it as an IOI, unless she's asking on behalf of one of her girlfriends

"Who do you like?" I remember questions like that flying all over the place when I was in elementary school and middle school. Right now that question just seems pretty ridiculous. Do people actually ask that?

I'd probably respond with something like "Heidi Klum. It's totally over between me and Scarlett Johanson."
