I find it really hard to pick up girls using techniques described on this board in Tokyo. I have only been learning Japanese for 2 years, and I'm not fluent. When I try to say clever things to them in English, they often don't understand, no matter how hard they try to, and the conversation quickly just decends into 'whats your name' 'where do you live' etc..

Does anyone know of any good techniques that can be used in this situation?

I'm in Japan too and feel your pain! Having an interesting convo in such a fuckin hard language can be difficult.

I'm only a newbie so can't really help. I've been here a while but was in a serious relationship which recently ended.

One idea is to think of games to play. Bar bets and the like. Just spend a little figuring out how to explain in Japanese and enjoy!

On a different topic, what's your (or anyone else's!) thoughts on the 'Japanese girls are easy for foreigners' idea? I've been here a year and see little evidence of that. I've heard a lot of J-girls say they like foreigners, want a foreign bf etc but when it comes to the crunch it seems if you got no game you got fuck all chance. Less chance in a lot of cases, given the language barrier.

Cheers!

I feel your pain too but I came back from Tokyo 2 days ago and had some success. Even though some of the sets I approached didn't go anyway because I don't speak the language, however, I still got to FClose a girl I met at Gaspanic 2 weeks ago... on day2 and day3.

The problem now is that I have oneitis and I'm trying to NEXT her since things went kapoot and she wanted to be friends at the end and I didn't want to have any of that.

Enjoy your time in Japan and have fun!!!

Chr0nik.

my advice is to get a little book called "making out in japanese". this will have all the dating type lingo you'll need for interesting, and sometimes seductive interactions with japanese women.

learn as much japanese as possible. i lived there for 10 years, and I have friends who swear that its better to not speak japanese because they think that any foreigner who speaks good japanese is a player. I disagree.

i always opened with japanese and kept the conversation in japanese as much as possible, and still had success. they would ask why i speak, and id say "im a student". sometimes making them speak english though can be fun...as long as the girl has the personality type to have fun with it and keep the conversation going with you.

tokyo can be rough...depends where you go. if you game in roppongi, getting japanese girls is relatively easy. if you go to the ginza, it'll be more difficult as these girls are more looking for rich, business man types, usually old japanese salarymen.

but to have a huge advantage, go to roppongi as this area is filled with girls who go there specifically to meet foreigners. (if you dance, this will help you wonders too)

yeah i know what you mean! feels like i've hit a massive brick wall! jap girls are easy to kino with.. i find. Some even kino back twice as much like wanting to hold your hand and rubbing against you etc just cos they think it's part of your culture and they want to show they are really excited.

i dated this jap girl who could barely speak any english but we could still get along with basic convos and just keeping the energy up. i think the trick here was (if you dunno any japanese) is to respond with silly answers but with simple words that they understand.. at the same time you have to use a lot more body language to compensate for the lack of english. when i was with this jap girl on the harbour side.. i had both my arms around her pretending to throw her and said 'go swim in the sea' she was giggling and we were just fooling around afterwards etc

hope this helps =)

oh i'm going to japan in late december! anyone else going there? pm me about meet ups and j-girl stuff =)

most of the time for me when i am opening up a set is play the "lost friendly Gaijin" like on the train for instance. i see a group of cute japanese girls and would approch them and ask them for help cause i'm lost for example "sumi masen ..michi ni mayot-te shimai-mashta" which basicly means "excuse me i have lost my ways" then i would point on the train map to where i was going. Usually they'll start speaking japanese to me (since i'm asian they just presume i'm japanese) but then i would tell them i know very little japanese "nihongo suko-shi" the thing is most japanese girls knows very little english but good enough for you to interact with them. Thats the best approch that has worked for me so far. then i would bring up what good clubs to go to and stuff. Kinda flirt alittle. Uusally you'll have to intro yourself. you can sometimes get a number/e-mail close before you hit your station. I agree. the stuff you learn on the forums doesnt really have effect on japanese girls unless you translate it into Japanese..

j-style i'll be in Japan (since i live there) maybe we can wing for each other. Just hit me up and let me know when you are coming over. and anyone else that onces to come visit. I might be throwing a New Years party at my pad.

I'm also going to be there over new years. I would definitely be interested in meeting up and sarging.
