I DJ at a few different clubs around my city, and I've met a lot of people as a result of performing (I'm not a top 40 DJ, I'm playing a lot of my own stuff, and doing as much live as I physically can)... I often have people approach me after a set, but now that I'm privy to the game, I'm not sure where I stand as far as DHV and where in the M3 model that would put me...

A few positives that I can think of are that I don't really have to try to get people's attention when I'm on a stage... so that should be DHV in itself for anyone watching. It also gives me a lot of excuses for takeaways ( I usually have stuff to take care of for our shows)

Any thoughts?

As you might have guessed, you have a HUGE advantage over the general populace at the bar/nightclub! Definate HV. Exploit it, my friend. Do you still lack confidence. Seems you do as you're questioning your status! Rid yourself of your humbleness and embrace your destiny as a default PUA due to your job.

I don't lack confidence when it comes to DJ'ing... If anything I feel like a million bucks when I step off the stage. My issue has always been more of not knowing what to say to people I don't know... I was always really shy. I've been forcing myself to approach people for a couple weeks now, and field testing routines, so that feeling is starting to fade...

I was there once and admit jealousy. I was a bouncer at a popular night club in Pensacola and completely blew any opportunities because I didn't know how to take advantage of my perceived status.

I remember specifically one night I had an arrogant ,"I don't give a shit" attitude and had the balls to get a HB8's phone number within 5 minutes.
I had her pick me up the next day in her Corvette and soon she realized I was actually a AFC in disguise! My lack of confidence was exposed in no time! Never saw her again but more importantly...

- I didnt learn anything from the experience. just thought I got lucky to get a # so quick and easy. Didn't have another easy pickup again. Can you say ,"Self fulfilling prophesy?"
- Even though I was a bouncer I did nothing to take advantage of my status, and I failed just as miserably as if I was an AFC who paid to get in.

Don't make the same mistake of waiting for them to come to you. You still need game though things will be much easier for you.

Honestly being a DJ is major DHV one of my old business partners is a DJ
he's a complete fucking tool but still manages to end up making out with at least 4 girls by the end of the night. He has no personality but they think he's something special. I mean he's not even a good DJ. so I'll say yea

I perform with DJ's, I'm an MC. Being a DJ is a great DHV, but take note of the fact that Microphone men, might try and amog you! DLV you and then DHV themselves believeing they are the reason people are dancing about and are there in the first place.

Remind them who plays the beat they work with and cut the mic off or keep fading their mic channel and blame the quality of the mic if they are persistently doing so.

Also try and introduce YOUR set With you on the mic! Also end it that way if you can, establishing higher value over the MC as the one who calls the shots and spins the record and who decides when the shows up, this is also an oppurtunity to subtly amog the MC infront of a large audience wether verbally or through proximity and body language in conjunction with the power of the PA boosting your voice over his.. Hope this helps.
