I whole heartedly agree with this statement; however, I do not believe that this girl has done anything to deserve this sort of "reward." Rapture was asking us for advice on how to ask this girl to be his official girlfriend.

I may be way off the mark here, but the scenario I have playing out in my head would make him look like a total AFC-douche-licker. I can see him sitting there at the dinner table with that dumb-ass grin of anticipation on his face as she cracks open the gimmicked fortune cookie with some corny message hidden inside.

IMO, it would be much better to ask this girl in a way like he already knows she's going to say yes, but he has to take the time to make it "official." Almost like it's a fun little annoyance for them. See my previous post for details.

why dont you just be direct and have a conversation like this:

you:"in your opinion, what are we?"
HB: ""ionno, what do you think?"
you: "you're more than a friend, but we aren't dating. im usually not this wishy washy. i would like us to be in a relationship"

or whatever. just ask her, in your opinion what are we, or what do want from this

Okay, okay. I see where you're coming from. I understand that women love those romantic moments and love it when a guy goes out of his way to make her feel special. However, I do think that there is quite a big difference in following a school tradition in asking your GIRLFRIEND to prom and asking a girl to BECOME your girlfriend.

In my view, this girl should be buying HIM flowers and doing special things to try to win HIM over. I operate from the frame that I am the prize and the girl should be chasing ME, not the other way around. It has nothing to do with being "alpha" but it has everything to do with having high value. Now, don't get me wrong here. That doesn't mean that I'm an asshole and demand that a woman has to constantly vie for my attention and affection. I still love to do romantic things for my girls when the deserve them because I know it makes them happy and brightens their day.

The best analogy I can come up with right now is a celebrity signing autographs. Now, Johnny Depp needs nothing from the hundreds of screaming fans that follow him around wherever he goes, thrusting pen and paper into his hands. Yet, time and time again, Depp will stop what he is doing and doll out his John Hancock for hours. He does this because he respects and appreciates his fans and knows that doing a little something for them goes a long way to make them happy and will leave lasting impressions. Now compare this to Danny Bonaduce who basically has to beg people to take his autograph when he goes out.
