Ok well I'm definitly new to the game. I went out last night with some AFC buddies to see the Houston Astros game. We meet up at a bar across the street from the ballpark. Before they arrive I'm talking to myself "come on Cutter you puss. go talk to that set. Damn. waited to long. Ok there's a new set go talk to them" pussed out again. Finally when my first friend showed up I pointed out a 2 set (HB7 & HB8) and told him here I go come in and "find" me after you see that I'm in. I walk up use jealous girlfriend opener and I'll be damned....the sh1t worked like gold. Then the best friends test. Again...GOLD. We have some normal chit chat a little kino IOIs flying around here and there.

Target (HB8): We better be going across the street.

My cell rings and while I'm telling my bro where to meet us to go into the game. I'm expecting that the girls will walk away. they don't.

Target: ok well see you guys later.

I pretend not to care that they are leaving.She turns her back and begins to walk away. I grab her wrist and pull her back

Cutter: You can't leave yet.
Target: Why?
Cutter: Because you haven't given me your number.
Target: Ok it's xxx-xxxx (absolutly no hesitation)
Cutter: Hey hey I know you are excited to give me your number but let me get my cell phone out ok?
Target: Oh, sorry *blush*

After the ball game... we head to a local bar

On the way I tell my friend all about the game and he's facinated. I proceed to use the same openers plus Style's 5 questions bit and number close 2 different girls at the bar.

So the end get's wierd and this is where I need advice. I've just won the 5 questions game and my target (HB7) is at the bar waiting to buy me a beer. I'm back at her table with her friends (didn't follow her to bar..trying not to look needy). Finally after she had been gone a long time I head up to the bar to check up on her.

Cutter: Have you gotten my beer yet?

HB7: No the bartender won't come over here.

(to our right a different HB7 is sitting in a 5 set with 2 AFCs)

Different HB7: shhhh! use your inside voice. (appears to be a bit tipsy)

Cutter: (whispering) is that Fing better?

Original HB7 (looks at her competition get's irritated and literally turns her back on her) and attempts one last time to get me a beer.

Orginal HB7: Ok this sucks I'll order you a beer back at the table when the waitress returns.

So we go back and as I'm talking to orignial HB7, New HB7 makes eye contact and gives me the "come over here" finger curl. I shake my head no and motion that she should come to me. She shakes her head no and I blow her off.

Well. Original HB7 is cooling off and I'm gaming her but some AMOG's who have a pitcher offer her a drink and I've been teasing her all night that that's the best game those dude's have. She seems to be a bit interested in free beer. So I finally let her go and just to make it intersting I walk straight over to New HB7 who kino's me immediately, so much so that I consider kissing her right there. Anyway I run the best friends test and the "you can tell alot about someone by what they drink" routine and I'm in big time. She leaves for the restroom and I catch her by the arm on the way back and try to walk her away from her friends. she stops and says.

New HB7: I can't because my BF is going to be here soon and I can let him see me with you.

Cutter: Ok well I don't care about him. Give me your number so I can call you tomorrow.

New HB7: No you give me your number.

Cutter: BS you give me yours. You won't call me if I give you mine.

New HB7: yes I will.

Cutter: Ok let me find something to write on and I'll meet you back over with your friends.

So I write my number down walk back over give it to her and give her a hug as I slip it in her hand. A peck on the cheek and I'm gone.

Shortly her BF shows up. I've decided to leave and on my way out I walk past her squeeze her arm and keep walking. Without ever acknowledging her presence I say goodbye to all of her friends who I had been chatting with. Then I leave. ...

So my question is : why didn't I get her number. and do you ever feel like giving yours is your best shot and so you do it? or would you rather just walk away and open a new set?

with all the IOIs you got, i'm surprised. i assume you played it cool the whole time. you didn't go puppy dog on her did you? because there's alwas the cat string theory. good job overall. i suppose you could've settled for an email address. i don't know if your aware, but david D often advocates just getting an email address.
