I want to convey alpha when I'm sitting in class, or sitting waiting for a bus, or any kind of sitting when I'm out in public.

I usually try to sit up straight, but I feel awkward, because I don't know what to do with my hands, or if I should slouch a little, or look laid back, etc.

What is considered proper posture for sitting? What helps convey an alpha-status?

A large part of it, is just being comfortable. Yeah, you may want to sit up fairly straight, but not stiff or anything, cause you're not comfortable. You are gonna spread your legs, take up as much space as you can while remaining comfortable. Fold your hands in your lap, or place them on your legs, twiddle your thumbs, whatever, just don't sit there woodenly. The key is to be comfortable, but not hunched over or too slouched down, aside from that, there's a wide range you can play with.

Why don't people get this? JUST ACT NORMAL! The reason you feel akward is because you're trying to act "perfect" instead of human. I went through the same thing for the longest time until I was taught natural behavior by an expert.

It's awesome that you want to learn; we all need to unlearn a lot of what we were conditioned to do around women but If you have to act unnatural you are not a true alpha male and you're not reaching your maximum potential.

Don't be afraid to take up space.

Look at this picture:

Just sit like you would if you were at home watching TV; be perfectly comfortable in your own skin and unaffected by what others think.

c_n12 is right. Just that that picture makes those guys look like tools, but aside from the fact that they look incredibly awkward trying to sit normally, they're got a normal body posture. Pictures tend to do that to people though.

twiddle your thumbs
Everything he said is correct except twiddling your thumbs as this will create the impression that you are nervous or anxious; basically it will give away an inner message that you're covering for something.

Haha well I don't have so much a problem with bus stops and stuff, I was just giving an example.

More sitting in class than anything. Met eyes with a few girls a few separate times in class, but the desks aren't exactly recliners haha. I don't know whether to lean on the desk, or lean back, etc. I tend to move around a lot because they're uncomfortable, and tend to rest my chin on my hand because leaning back is REALLY uncomfortable.
