I was at a club I had never been to about a month and a half ago and I was just chillin with a couple friends getting use to the new territory. I go up to the bar to get a drink and I overhear the guy next to me telling his friend "Watch this." The bar tender comes to him and he says:

AFC- blah blah blah..... and your sexy too.
HB - (Turns around laughing with a WTF look on her face and asks what he wants.)

The guy tried to buy himself and her a drink as well but she declined due to the fact she was working lol. The guy gets his drink and starts walking away and she comes to me next. I try to angle my body away from her just a little so I could get that talking over the shoulder effect and ask:

Me - You think you could get that guy to buy me a drink to?
HB (Laughs, slaps me on the arm.) Your so evil. (Nods her head yes with a big smile.)

I just laugh, turn my body toward her, get my drink and head back to my friends. Later in the night when things are starting to slow down, she comes out into the bar, spots me talkin with my friends near the pool tables and asks if I'm down for a game. It took me a second to say yes cause I was like OH MY GOD! in my mind lol.

We play a game a pool and I'm running game on her the best I know how. A few minutes into the game of pool here comes the AFC from before with a long island ice tea in his hand. He gives it to her and says "Here you are my dear." I started busting her balls over it saying "Wow, you two would make a cute couple." after he leaves and she tells me I can have the drink lol. I could have done alot better here but before we left I worked up the balls to number close her. Said something along the lines of "We should exchange number. This is my first time at this club so we can keep in touch and I'll know when to come in and get my free alchohol." She laugh, hits me again and we give each other our numbers.

I spent to much time talking about the guy who bought her the drink during the game of pool cause I was struggling with things to say. This was one of the first times I'd ever applied anything I'd learnt from the community so my brain was about to overload trying to remember all the rules lol. I talk to the HB9 3 or 4 times a week on the phone and see usually twice a week. This weekend she invited me over to her place so I'm REALLY stoked about that. Regardless of how things turn out (LJBF or F-close) I have a great new friend and some great social proof.

Props Man! Either way you have a great HB9 for social proof like you said if you end up as friends. She could make a hell of a good pivot...Or ultimately it would be a nice F-close too I'm sure. Sounds like you struggled a little, but the end result was good. I like the, ""Could you get him to buy me a drink too..." and the "You two make a cute couple part." To bust her balls some, that was a nice touch.

I'm a cynic, so I'll keep this short and sweet - Did this really work? I'm new to all of this, so I'm liable to take my logic-scalpel and my rejection-anesthetic to everything I encounter. If it did, then I'm happy you've reached a point I couldn't even imagine.

Yeah, it did. I was amazed myself when she came over and asked to play pool. Just shows how real the pick up arts are. This particular occurrence is what compelled me to continue studying/practicing them.

As far as you not getting there...I thought the same way but the more I practice this, the more I do it naturally. I had a terrible time trying to have the right tonality, body language, watch for IOIs, remember material/create my own on the spot and all that jazz at first. Now I'm finding that I automatically pick up IOIs, use the right BL and tonality.

great job!! I know how you feel. I'm always trying to absorb as much as possible, and in return, sometimes I get info overload on the field. I'm thinking about routines, C&F. But I'll bet this is good for us in the long run.
