i first discovered the pick up community when a mate gave me a book to read on holiday....that book was you guessed it "the game".

I read "the game" and began to delve more and more into the PUA community

Isn't it true that as more and more afc's discover the community they tend to read and apply the same material....

what i wonder is that the likes of Neil Strauss & Mystery who have published various PUA methods and technique's with best selling books and reality tv shows, will ultimately have a detrimental effect on the community???

As more and more afc's use the same generic material over & over, wont the ladies become wiser to these Pick up methods??

I look at it this way. PUAs have to evolve. They have to become a natural so that everything can seem congruent with themselves.

Also, the regular naturals use the same game as well. Its not game material, but they use the same concepts. PUAs have just put a name to it and figured out a way to teach it.

There has a lot of discussion on this and the short answer is no.

The only reason people worry about this is because of canned openers and routines, some of which are now very well known. These are designed as learning tools, not dogma which should be followed and adhered to. They're there to get people off the ground, and to be honest they should be coming up with their own material in order to prevent being be called out on it anyway. Don't use well-known and popular material, simple. You don't need to worry about following a structure, or a set of ideas and theories, because only the openers and routines can be picked up on, at least on a conscious level. In short, a good PUA will not need canned material. At the very least if he really wants to use a routine he likes, he'll be able to incorporate it into the natural flow of things.

Just remember that whatever a woman says to you, even if she calls you out on being a PUA, it is only to test your frame so she can see if your balls are real or not. If you get defensive or try to prove her opinion of you wrong, you're doing what she wants you to and she will fucking own you... a defensive attitude is tantamount to insecurity. I know who I am, and I don't care what she says to me because all I'm interested in is hooking up with her and I don't need to try and impress her in order to do so. She should be impressed with who I am, not what I have to say. And she can say whatever the hell she wants because I know that what she's feeling is far more important; you should realise this if you want to be really successful.

I don't wanna make this shit complicated so just remember that whatever she says or does, as long as she's still standing in front of you and paying attention to you, she is showing interest. As long as you can play off her criticisms and show her that you don't give a shit what she thinks of you, you will come out on top.

I can see where your comming from mate but tbh i dont think they are ruining it, just simply teaching it.. although every now and then a woman might realise she has heard this stye or pick up lines before but tbh when have they ever not heard the same things again and again in clubs with idiots trying to sleep with them? The only differance is PUAs have a differant and usually more subtle approach

i've read the game, and i'm reading the mystery method, and both style and mystery say that they don't want to make generic clones spewing the same material, they encourage people to make their own material along the way. just because a lot of guys have started to get into the PUA world, doesn't mean every girl knows and understands about it.

besides, style and mystery both say that if a girl you're gaming knows you're using PUA from a book or something like that and calls you out on it, well now you have something in common and can start talking about your thoughts on the matter.
