so i was wondering if TELLING A GIRL TO call you ...is that a compliance test or is it considered needy? since you have to wait for her to call you.

LMAO no, its not some random girl. Im already in conversations with this girl and ive hung out a bunch of times.

So at the end of a texting convo i just said to call me when she gets back from her trip.

It depends somewhat on the situation, but as a rule of thumb i would never tell a girl to call you.
You should game it so she wants to call you.
If you have her number too, then be a man and call her though
