So this was my second set of the night. I have another post up about my first set. This was a group of four girls standing in a fairly even circle. I tried to approach so they could see me coming but it didn't really work.

Me: Hey what's up?

Them: typical response

Me: "I have a question for you guys. My friend back in the States has been dating the same girl all his life. They are planning to get married and he has never been with anyone else. What do you think of that?"

Them: "How old is he?" They briefly discuss after I answer

Then the conversation started to die almost immediately.

Two of them went to talk to a friend who walked over nearby and the next thing I know the last girl there that I was talking to said "Nice meeting you" and walked off hurredly.

Obviously I suck, but what do I do to improve this? What specifically went wrong? If there are any other details you guys might need just say so and I will try to recall them.

If you can't think of good convo right away have some other stories/routines prepared.

again time constraint, read some of the books and watch the vids on the net or in the PUA video section and just see how the MPUAs do it!! all u need to do is practise man

I'm an aussie AFC so I can only really guide you on theory i've picked up and on aussie girls in general. First off it sounds like your approach is a little to direct and purposeful, it seems like they can see you coming a mile off and know your intentions straight away meaning your out before you're even talking to them. I think sponteneity and the 3 second rule (MM) are probably the way to go in this situation. Easier said than done i know but make it seem spontaneous either way. It's rare for aussie girls to warm to some random guy coming up to them with an opener, it has to be more spur of the moment than that, as in you are walking by or at the bar with something better to do later on but figured you'd ask either way. That's where opener's work best with aussie girls. Not to say that you can't walk up to girls and use canned openers in oz, they just have to be relevant to your environment in a sense while remining interesting

The other guys are right, coming in with a higher energy is vital as well, always appear like your having the best time possible and that being in your company is the place to be. Time constraint and confidence through body language also, not to mention having no pre-conceived outcome of where it will all end up..if you don't build up your expectations then you can't possibly lose..it's all a learning curve.

Hope this helps, you'll do well with your accent also, aussie girls and guys love the american accent so maybe muck around a little with that and neg the girls on pronouncing words funny..think of the movie love actually:)
