We all know that it can be hard to tell if a woman who works for tips is flirting with you or just looking for tip money. I can usually see right through their strategies.

This one chick is confusing me though. HB 7.8, asian (not my type, but i could try it), 21 or 22; she is my barber. Ok the first time i went in there she was doing the typical subtle flirting for tip money. I didnt think anything of it. She did ask me where i go out, who i go out with, seemed to take an intrest in me (saying she likes to play pool, as if to get me to ask her to play with me some time). Since asian women arent really my type, i just ignored it and thought she was the typical "hired gun" (so to speak). She gave me her business card with her name and cell written on it. Im pretty sure she writes her name in on every card, but the cell #?

Anyway, i go back about a month or so later (because she did a good job) and this visit really makes me wonder. She asks (not in any particular order), my age (she responds excited when she finds out im close to her age), who i go out with, if i have a girlfriend & why not, and again mentions how she likes to play pool. she also gets excited when i tell her pool is free on wednesday nights (like she wants me to invite her). she gives me her business card when i told her i lost it (neg attempt) with her name and cell on it.

most of that stuff is pretty typical, but the fact that she asked if i had a girlfriend really startled me. is she IOI-ing me or does she just want bigger tips?

asking if you have a gf doesn't seem like a biggie to me, but the fact that she got excited over the pool thing might be an open door.

Normally in an interaction where there is attraction both ways the effort is mutual and equal. In your case though it does not seem like you have given her any reason to be attracted or even want to talk with you and that leads me to believe that this is small talk to keep you enjoying your haircut.

Seriously if you look at it she is doing the same thing with every other client asking questions and breaking off on tangents to remove tension as most people cannot handle dead air.

To find out for sure the next time you go put some effort in and then you can judge from her actions but as for now she is just working.

'Whether or not you agree with his harsh, straight to the point mentality, truth be told, he’s the most active/ dedicated / motivating member on this board. He’s routinely getting newbies and current members out sarging, pushing them into sets, given them suggestions and advice, replying to posts more often then anyone else. u know to be honest she prob just want a tip and is keeping u interested while having ur hair cut this is wat the ioi's are but if u wanted to u could probably change things around quite easily but like u said asians arent really ur thing so it a question of wheather it would be worth ur time

I dont think he means it the way the quote came accross, i think what he means is that because she is not your type, you are not attracted to her in anyway, so there is no connection between you two and therfor she is not attracted to you.

He means because you have not "gamed" her you have made no reason to attract her.

most people who are much more experienced then me said that she is probably just making small talk and tip begging, and perhaps because i go to black barber shops with a bunch of men i may not know exactly how female barbers act, but if she gave you her cell and keeps gets excited whenever any sort of date like SPAM possibly arrises (pool) i think if you wanted to you could easily pursue this.

And she gave you her numb again, so.. whatevr. I meen man, it is what you make of it, if you wanted it you could get it but that is the way most things are.

next time i get a hair cut i will throw the idea of playing pool some time out there. If she talks about how good she is, i could say "ha, well maybe we should play some time, i will totally beat you" that way im not really asking her out
