Hey I recently got 2 negs from 2 different people on body langauge:

"I know a guy who does karate who stands the way you stand. But its good for buiness, not for social."

"Have you got a pain in your neck or something. You just seem really stiff"

If its real then obviously I want to fix it, but if I have good body language then how do you get out of that? I might be a bit statueque. I try not to move my hands at all when I talk. And my arms are by my sides.

It seems to me that you have a good overall posture (i.e. confident, shoulders back), but maybe giving a little more animation as far as your arms/hands go might loosen up your character. Then once you "lock-in" to the set, find something to lean back against be it the bar, wall, chair/bench. You can maintain your positive stature but still loosen up enough not to convey too much interest or formality. The business posture might be helpful in "rocking away" when you open the set...Don't change every aspect of your avatar/character, just add a little flavor into what you've already got.

Don't count those as negs, count them as "hate's"...at least they noticed you stand well in some circumstances.
In the words of Katt Williams: "Let them haters do their god damn job!"
Hope this helps buddy. Happy Hunting Comrades! -Shreder

It sounds like you might be a little stiff. There is a line between good posture 8) and a stick up your ass. Also it's OK to move your hands when you talk, provided you aren't flapping your wrist effeminately. One word-Relax. 8)

:o I agree with both above replies but I had to laugh(lol). The thing is that I notice with AFCs is that they(I used to) come off as being too stiff on the set(initially). Key is to calibrate correctly and go with the vibes on the set. If the set is vibrant- be vibrant(hand gestures, etc). If the set is more reserved or laid bacc- use less gestures(hands). u dont want to seem over-active as if u've just snorted a few lines of coccain while the set's vibe is total at funeral procession pace. So gauge the set's rhythm correctly.
