I was just at the police station today because some guy drove into me and I was reporting the accident. While there I heard a few interesting stories and one that is similar to this.

People put things up for sale online and this guy over in France says he wants to but them. Then he sends cheques for more money than the thing that he's buying and tells them to cash them and send back the extra money. He has various insane stories to make it sound legitimate, like his daughter that got into a car crash and is all deformed now, or his wife that died a month ago in child birth and so he needs the money quickly.

The cheques are forged of course and they bounce after a few days and the person loses all that money and possibly the item they were trying to sell as well. A lady sent the guy $7500, cause he kept telling her that his shipping company needed more money.

NOW, I'm NOT saying that Mehow is doing THIS. I know he runs a business and is legitimate, but I DO agree that the fact that there isn't a contract means that he can cut anyone he doesn't think has what he is looking for and thus you can end up paying for all that stuff and not getting the job you thought you were getting. Contracts often good for one party, if not both and in this case he realises that a contract isn't going to benifit him, but that it will benifit you, thus he doesn't impliment one.

He has set this program up, so that you send him money, he sends you his material, just like any other student of his, although at a reduced price and then depending on how he feels at a later date, maybe he makes you an instructor and you make it big, or maybe he cuts you loose and you end up broke for it. He holds all the cards.

I don't think Mehow is scamming people. I just think that he is acting very much in his own interest, and at very high risk to the employee.

the contract is worded to protect him very well, yet offers very little protection for me.

by the way, I havn't heard back. I guess they aren't going to compromise with me, oh well.

and the money, it's nearly 10K. if it were 1k, i'd do it, but that is just way too much money to risk
