Hi guys,

Just wondering if this is going to win or lose me more girls.

I have a beard and find its abit of a marmite situation (love it or hate it)

Where as if i were clean shaven maybe id get a love it situation all the time.

Only problem is that ive been told by my female friends that it doesnt look right when i dont have a beard, i also have abit of a chubby face which means it makes me look fatter.

I keep it short and very neat.

Any of you guys have problems with it?

Deaney

I always like experimenting. I will go a few weeks and go to my venues clean shaven and check my responses to when I go with a 3 day old beard, to full blown beard. I find personally when I have shaven most girls guess me at 23 years old. When I don't shave closer to my age at 25 (I'm 26). So if I'm going for the 18 yr olds in the club I might not shave! :) Just get opinions from women. I trust their combined opinions over mine. If they think you look better with then go for it.

I get better responses to when i have facial hair. I normally have a goatee or a slight trimmed beard with a little design and actually I grew it out for St. Patty's day to dye it green and I noticed when I do have facial hair, girl respond better to me.

Just figure it out on your own is what you have to do, some people look better with or without it. I guess I sport more of a badboy look so it suits me pretty good.

Just don't grow it all out and have a big bushy beard, keep it nice and neat.

Just my chime in:

I've had my goatee/chinstrap for about 5-6 years now. Occasionally I shave it but I get funny looks. My face look 18 when I shave, I figure this will be good when I'm old. However, I do notice people take a second look beacuse they think it's a new face.

Once I asked a friend what she though. She said I don't like facial hair but you look better with it. So my true feelings are that there is no one recipe. Every women will look at it differently under different circumstances.

Dragon.

They're all nuts.

The research on facial hair is mixed. Some women prefer hair others don't so you run the risk either way. The vast majority of girls prefer cleanly shaved. If you want the source of the research just ask and I'll dig it up.

Interesting! According to my girly friends there's a difference between having a beard and having a beard. Basically just keep it short, goatee, along the jaw line etc. And always keep it very short around the mouth, no girl wants hair in her gob when kissing. And always shave the neck. I look pretty young without mine, but thats not why i got it, it just looks right on me.
Thats what you gotta think about, can you rock it, facial hair works for some, but not for others.

Most girls I know don't dig beards, and a lot dig clean shaving, but my best results come from the goatee. I think the harder question is do chicks dig the mustache?

I think that the 2-3 days without shaving is the best look hands down. Women like the scruffy look before it gets long enough for a beard.

Also, your face is less likely to break out because your not shaving as frequently.

I say, only have a beard if it makes you look good. or to hide acne

if your up for it, try this out... grow out a beard for maybe 4-5 days, then shave 1 half of your face(left or right)

i did this and worked a whole day of work, i would say about 50% of the ppl didn't even notice(and i have dark hair) and the other 50% noticed right away, but 100% started talking about it and i had generated conversation... now of course this was all men

but i would do it again

them: "why did you do that?"
me: "well i wasn't sure if i wanted clean shaven or a beard so i am trying both out(smile and demonstrate both sides), so clean or no?"
them: "blah blah"

this is a great exercise, since first it gets over a little bit of your social fear(who cares what you look like?), and if you really wanted to you could use this to find out whether you look better in a beard or shaven from the same women at the same time

I'm from the school of thought that argues there is a significant difference between what girls say they like, and what they actually like.

I'm sure its still different for every girl, and I'm sure not every guy is suited to grow a beard, but in my own humble experiences I get approached and hit on 10x more when i have a scruff going.

SCRUFF is the best way to go. Good example:
