me and a friend are at the zoo, and as we start enetering.
i see an ice cream vendor i have some familiarity with.

We talked a couple o times in the past, nothing historic though.

I make the approach, budy like 2 feet away from me, and i say

:(her name) whats up? hook me and my friend with some ice cream.
hb 8.5: i can only give you guys a discount
me: aww commman ! (playful tone)

shortly after this i leave (laughing) with my pal.......

at the end of the day, we pass by her cart again. We approach and she says:

bla blah ill hook you up, but just this once. what ice cream do you want?
she: surprise me
she: ill give you nuts (ad verbatim!refering to a popsicle with nuts obviously)

me and my friend just said thanks and moved on.

I was taken aback that that she actually caved in.

Although this is obviously a good sign.

my plan is to go back in a couple of days and see what time she gets off so we can "chill".

Anyways, what do you guys do when a chik gives you something?

ive been analyzing the situation a little bit and the act of "framing the situation" comes to mind.

You shouldnt ask somebody directly for things "eg i want this from you" unless as a last resort, but it is much more elegant to create a circumstance
and SPAM conductive to the behavior.

In this case, the difficulty lies in the time frame:

when someone is working, they are not "ripe" for building rapport (unless youre quick or they have a lot of idle time)....so the reasonable thing to do is find out when they are on break or off work.

However, asking them directly could end up backfiring, as it is a very obvious IOI, or it could work if done under the right circumstances.

In this case, since she gave you something, you would be Rewarding her for her gesture by implying you want to see her after work, for instance.

I think you should be fine if just ask "what time are you off" and if she questions you, say something like "so you can give me more ice cream"

this immediately releases some pressure off the "i wanna see you" and puts her in a lighthearted mood. Youre chances are better.

but remember always make it CF.

hope this helps

dude, dont wait too long either.

Otherwise the "moment" will be gone,

and she wont know why you are reinforcig her.

In animal behavior, you reward the subject shortly after they show a desired behavior.

In this case, dont ask too soon (eg. needy) but also dont wait too long.
