I want to go out to the mall today to get used to doing day approaches (and sober) since i want to work on it a little bit at a time and become really good with each phase of PU i just want to go run an opener to a set, hear what they have to say then tell them i gotta go just so i can get used to opening. What would be the best opener you guys think would hook in the day time. Also do you guys think this is a good way to start out?

Any practice is good practice, as this is where you learn the most. I myself prefer situational openers. Comment on something she is wearing, something around you guys. If you're talking to a hired gun, ask them about a specific item for sale, be c&f and try to talk them down in price. Say something like, "Alright, if I give you my number you can knock off 50%. I think thats more than fair." But most of all, enjoy yourself.

You could open in any way you want; as long as you don't act like any other guy. Go talk to those who ARE HIRED to be nice to you, as 96Firebird said. Good practice.
