I started reading this PUA stuff way back in early january and I had some success a few weeks after it. I started learning a lot however recently within the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been bogged down with so much college work and school work since I'm studying to be an Engineer and my studies take up most of my time. I haven't been to any parties or anything within the last month. I find myself getting back into my old nervous self and when girls say hey or the thought of approaching, that old fear is back even though I've done it flawlessly before.

I am turning back into my old self. How do you stay out of that AFC zone? I know it takes practice but a lot of times I don't have the time to go out every night and I find after not being social when I go to a social even or out and about I get all shy and everything like my AFC old self. What do you guys recomend to get back into the game? I just ordered rules of the game by neil strauss so I was going to give that a try. I already studied mystery method and some e-books. I also read this forum. Any suggestions?

It's just a matter of practice. It's OK, don't sweat it so much. As long as you have the knowledge in your head and the belief that it works, then you're good. Just don't let your fear take over.

I'm actually going through something similar myself. When I was going through a low phase in my life, I developed social anxiety. I'd start breaking out in sweats when I was in public places. Over time, I started getting more confident and got more comfortable in social situations. I got so good that I would often be the entertainer when I was in a group function - cracking jokes and such.

It's been almost 4 months since I've really gone out to any events. I've been studying for my graduate school standardized exam. Several weeks ago I had to visit a college to drop off some forms, and I got another anxiety attack. Being away from the outside world so long made me fall back into my old traps.

Just maintain a positive attitude, and look forward to being out there again. That's what I'm trying to do. Don't get discouraged, and beat yourself up over every AFC incident. There will be plenty more opportunities to redeem yourself. Everyday, just work on your inner game. Keep talking yourself up.

Tell me about it, school (engineering as well) takes up so much of my time it isn't even funny. My normal schedule is work from 7AM-12PM, class @ 1PM to around 5PM, then either class from 730-930 or working on my design lab robot/car until about 8 or 9. Go home, eat, shower, sleep, repeat. The only thing I can suggest is the weekends. Friday and Saturday nights are prime party times. Don't let school take over your life, yet don't forget about your education. Unless you need a high GPA (for a scholarship or transfer eligability), don't worry about it too much. Don't be studying for 3 hours every night when you can be hanging out with friends. A degree is a degree, whether it was achieved with a perfect 4.0 or a simple 2.5.

What are you planning on going for, if you don't mind me asking. And are you at a community college, or a uni? I am transfering to the Rochester Institute of Technology next year for Mechanical Engineering with the automotive option.

i can completely relate to your situation. im a med student and during term i find it difficult to make time to go clubbing and much less sarge. i dont even have time to sarge on campus. its only during the holidays that i start digging up pua material, 'revising' and getting into it again only to lose my momentum once term commences again.

Why cant i be a pua all the time? after all being a pickup artist is very well a state of mind right? I find its VERY time consuming and mentally draining at times. To the average practical uni student its one thing at a time. Study mode VS pua mode.

Im sure there are others here who can relate to this. be it work or school. help!

hmm...
i saw a video of mystery saying that all the guys he knew, for example; Style, Matador, J-Dog etc etc... always fear the rejection, always fear when they approach and that is normal.. we all do...
he related that situation with someone who jumps into a pool for first time.. cold, freezing, weird...
second time.. cold freezing, not that weird..
then.. a few times after that its something normal... but,
what happens when you dry yourself?
if you jump again to the pool its gonna be like if it was your first time.. even though you have all that experience...
so basically trust in your skills and in yourself..
gnight! hope this helps you

hey 96firebird I'm a sophmore studying computer engineering at Virginia Tech University so everything here is a little tough but the party scene is amazing but after the first 5 weeks of every semester parties tend to die down and I get to go out maybe ever 2 or 3 weeks because of my course load and my job. It's life and I try to tell myself that I'm 19 and I have a lot of time to study this PUA stuff and use it. And if all else I could turn it into a hobby out of college assuming i'm still single ;-).

Mechanical Engineering is really popular here too actually. I was thinking about ME at one time. Thanks guys for responding.
