Quote:
1. Wear fit attire, not too tight but not too loose.
2. Find clothing that works with your complexion and hair color.
3. Dress better than everyone else, but not so much that you appear out of context / socially retarded.
4. Do it for yourself, not to impress others. This is important. The confidence you gain because you know you look good is a fantastic asset. If you are doing it to impress others, you've got a validation/approval-seeking mindset, which is neediness.
Appropriate examples:
When I go to college, I wear well-fitted v-neck t-shirts and dark slim-fit jeans, belts that match my oxford shoes, and some dark-colored bracelets to contrast with my skin. On a night out I might wear a gold necklace underneath my shirt. It's an extension of my personality.
I can "dress up" a casual night out with a blazer and a long sleeve underneath, depending on my mood.
Inappropriate examples:
Don't wear a business suit to class when everyone else is coming in sports jerseys. You'll appear socially retarded. (Dress better but within context.) I saw one poor fucker do this (complete with a briefcase, even) and I was damn sure he didn't have any interview or meeting afterwards.
Don't wear clothes that are incongruent with your personality.
That mostly.
Also be careful with the "female friend with taste". Most women will attempt to dress you to their idea of attractive, rather than taking into consideration what actually looks good on you.
