Its not just how athletic you are. It is how you dress, style your hair and how you carry yourself, etc. I wouldn't worry too much about having a six pack, as reasonably athletic should be good enough to get noticed (don't have a pot belly and a fat face).
Not a bad idea to pick up a magazine like Maxim and study dress style, etc. Although, if you are skilled in the arts you could dress in old sweats and a t-shirt and game without taking a shower. That said, dressing well with some style will help and will certainly raise your self-confidence. Just be sure you dress to the style you are looking to appeal to.
