| I have just signed up to this site (very new to the community) and expected my first post to be asking for advice rather than giving it, but I can really help on this one as I've been asked the tattoo question so many times in the past (seems to be a favorite question with girls) and it has led to a very lengthy conversation 'EVERY' time regardless of the fact that I haven't had any tattoos - until recently anyway, I've just had my first one done.
If you're a blank canvas (so to speak) there are so many things to talk about, don't think for a moment that a lack of tattoos means a lack of conversation about tattoos.
I designed a tattoo myself over a year ago and have kept a copy of the design in my wallet ever since, something I TOTALLY recommend doing as it has been such a useful conversational tool/prop. Whenever I have been asked the tattoo question I have been able to say that I have designed one (a DHV in itself if it's good enough) but haven't had it done yet and I ask if they want to see it, which they always do. This then leads to conversations about where on my body I should have it done, how big I should get it, what colour ink, where I should go to get it done, etc, etc - it goes on and on. It has previously resulted in girls passing it round to their friends, getting their other friends advice, holding the design up to various body parts and me showing them where I want it by holding it against them, a legitimate excuse to go Kino.
Now that I actually have one means that a lot of these conversation possibilities have disappeared, I was actually in a better situation when (like you) I didn't have any so don't rush into anything! Even when the tattoo conversation starts to dry up, it usually leads to conversations about body piercing and even scarification - look it up if you don't know what that is, it's weird! If you're not artistic enough to design a tattoo for yourself, just print off a design you like from the internet and keep that in your wallet, depending on how honest you are you could even pass it off as your own design, I doubt she'd ever know any different.
Hope this helps, good luck.
