Im new to this game and I'm in the process of reading a few books and looking at training videos on about become a PUA. I guess in my head I always thought it was going to be easy to simply walk up to a girl and start a conversation. Boy oh boy was I wrong!

I thought to myself lets not run before I walk. So while walking through the city I noticed a girl who was not an incredible stunner but I thought it would be a nice intermediate confidence boost. In my head I had it all planned out but when it came to approaching and opening my mouth I completely bottled it and walked past. I did this on several occasions and think I need to go back to drawing board for a bit. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on how I can overcome this anxiety which I really did not think I had until i put it to the test? WTF?

The real strange thing is I have no problem whatsoever asked woman for the time or directions!

I just read a couple of subjects and books on this topic and have been putting it to use. Talk to as many random or non random people as you can! Im not saying you be that weird ass guy who says hi to absolutely everybody but whenever possible strike up a convo with anyone hot, ugly, old whatever. Also get hot female friends its not hard because your not wheeling them theyr just your friends but other people on the street wont see that theyll see a player walking with two hot girls that probably bang him. This makes it soooooo much easier to talk to girls on the street or club or anywhere in general. If your gonna study with anyone go for Adam Lyons hes not a freak and teaches you how to naturally get better instead of memorizing shit.

I will definitely go and get the book by Adam Lyons. I have heard that the best way to learn is to watch another pickup artist do his thing. Where is the best place to watch videos? Can anyone tell me?

I have been told that body language is a big think which you need to master. Again I would imagine the only way to learn that is to watch?

One last final question I know Im no "Brad Pitt" but I know I'm not a complete loose moose either,personally I would say I'm average. But is it really true that even ugly people can become good pickup artists? I've yet to see a real ugly one I have to admit?

Non-verbal communication is vital, so yes body language is very important. It's a very broad topic though, so you shouldn't expect to be enlightened about the specifics through this thread. Best you can do is read, listen and see some material, and you'll pick up on it very fast. (and with enough effort, make it automatic for you.) Just reading and thinking about it in your head, was good enough for me.

Watching another pick-up artist can lead to revelations, and is probably a good idea to do, though reading and listening to seminars, in my case, made it easier to take in and personalize to the point where I accepted it. (Or the edited version I made for myself of it.)

Point about 'real ugly people' is, that once they get involved with PUA, and lets face it ugly people are extremely motivated about this stuff, they'll join a gym, get a better haircut, get new clothes etcetera, and stop being 'real ugly'.

I would also recommend practicing your tonality. You'll hear it again and again, it's not about what you say but how you say it. You can have the greatest pickup line in the world but if you say it with no confidence and a timid voice, you'll bomb.

Grab some openers and practice them in front of a mirror. Go through every possible scenario. I've used this method for speeches, interviews and approaching women, and it works.
