The hard truth about not going out is that it will NOT build your social skills. Just staying at home and watching videos is great, but it's pointless unless it is put into practice. I've been there and it doesn't look good.
Take this for example.
If you want to be a great football player, do you think watching football videos all day will help you become a better player? No, it won't. Same thing goes with socializing. Why?
Neil Strauss, author of "The Game" once said this. Going out and socializing is like building a muscle. When you go to the gym and workout, you want to start with small weights and then move onto big weights. If you stay at home all day and not work out for a while, it becomes difficult to lift weights.
Same goes with socializing and pick up. You need to go out and train yourself to be comfortable meeting and interacting with people, doing it consistently. If you're just starting out, I would highly recommend doing the newbie mission first: smile, say hi to everyone that passes by you today (maybe 10 people), then walk away.
And by the way, here's a warning about watching/reading too much material before actually trying it out (this is what happened to me). Too much material at once can become overwhelming and cause some frustration because not all PUA material is the same. You might begin to wonder where to start because there is too much material. Just keep it simple and take it in small chunks.
Hope that helps!
This pretty much sums it up
