And tell me, why would I be foolish to believe what the Bible says?
hmm....giant ark? flesh eating zombies? the tower of babel? ALL of Genesis?
I counter your question with another! What makes the bible 'more true' than, lets say, the Quran? or the Book of Mormon? or the Flying Spaghetti Monster?
Bible=Various forms. Including and excluding certain books depending on denomination. Translations can also affect content as well. Old testament dates back to the 12 century B.C.
Torah=First five books of the old testament.
Quran=Teachings of the Prophet Mohamed, written around 630 a.d.
Book of Mormon= Written in America by Joseph Smith in the early 1800s.
Flying Spaghetti Monster= Assumed to be created by KristallNachte in the early 2000's.
None of these are wrong. Religion is a deeply personal choice, and it's not about right or wrong, better or worse. There is no right way to worship God, only the way you choose, the way that calls to you. You might not have a place for faith in your heart, and that's fine. But because of that you will never understand what it is like to be a believer, and feel something so deeply and viscerally, that you just know it is right. Because of this, debates are pointless. Everyone makes their own decisions about religion or lack thereof, and at some point we all just have to agree to disagree.
Also we're veering again.
