Okay so I went out last night, although it was a crazy rain and normally I'd have been canceling all plans. I went out all by myself as I don't have a wing.
Got there early and it was not even half full. But as I sat there enjoying the music and my drink, the place slowly got crowded. It actually got so crowded that I couldn't find a decent spot where I could wait for my "prey". So I just sat at the bar with my drink on the bar, as there were people all around me like sardines.
All kinds of sets there, mixed sets and all-girl sets, but they all looked so fucking busy dancing and taking to eachother. I definitely picked a wrong club, I've seen better clubs(that are larger and girls transit the area more often, hence creating a good opportunity to deploy my AO -- ideally a lobby area or something where I can find a solo girl parked, waiting for friends or texting).
AO#1
As I sat at the bar, two drunk chicks come next to me to order drinks. The blond one closer to me, was so drunk that she turned to me with fake smile as the bartender tapped her shoulder to make her aware that her drinks are ready. Same shit three times in a row. I was just looking at her indifferently. Coz it was amusing

After she realized the female bartender is the one tapping her, she paid for the drinks and then as she was preparing/mixing them, I tapped her hand and asked "How's it going?". She was bothered and with a fake smile and no eye contact answered she's fine. I then asked what is she doing later. She shrugs, again with no eye contact and total disinterest, and then she tells something to her girl-friend. Mot probably reporting what i just asked her.
Throwing the punch-line was useless at this point. So I dropped it. They took off and disappeared into the crowd.
So this was basically a half attempt of the AO. But hey, with no eye contact AO is nothing but noise.
AO#2
After a while, as I was still there at the bar in the same place, enjoying the SPAM as I was feeling the alcohol making its effect, here comes this chick next to me to order drinks. She was tipsy as it was obvious in her eyes. But I liked her as she had the appearance of a nice-girl, which I like. (I don't dig the smart-ass aggressive type of females, no matter how hot).
I tap her and ask how's it going. She answers fine. Almost no eye contact.
I then ask her what is she doing later, and she looks into my eyes at this point (but I think I was way to serious and tensed up. I need to look more relaxed I guess) and she answers "around here..." while pointing at the crowd.
Do you want to come home with me? I asked. She didn't hear me and leaned in with her ear, so I repeated into her ear (which is definitely not ideal). Her answer was "no" but she was calm and minded her drink after I said "Okay". I then asked for her name, she told me her name, and when I told her my name she nodded her head and directed her attention to her drink. Which for me was a sign of disinterest so I didn't pursue it any further. She was there for like a minute more, then she grabbed her drink and vanished.
[I do plan to work on persistence but later as I get more advanced. For now as a newbie I'll only focus on those who show some kind of interest]
But anyway this was a full AO, even though the delivery sucked and the eye contact was very poor (basically no eye contact at the crucial moment of delivering the punch-line).
Although I did have the intention to do more of them AOs. I didn't. Because I couldn't find approachable sets.
As I was leaving, a bouncer was keep repeating to two drunk girls that they can't go back in(don't know the reason for that, nor do I care). I took the opportunity to invite them to an after-hours-party with me. But they both looked at me very confused like they don't know what's that they don't know what I'm talking about so I turned my back and walked away.
So yeah, I know my goal was to do 5 of them. I only did 2. But not because I chickened out, it's because I couldn't find good opportunities.
Having a precise plan really helped me. This time I didn't have no approach anxiety whatsoever. I didn't ask myself "what will I say next" not even for a second. I felt good. And this exercise is definitely a confidence-booster.
Also. Knowing that I have to fill this report made me more responsible and definitely helps to get over that "ah fuck it i'm not in the best mood today, i'll do it another time" mindset. I'd say it's a good push when you don't have a wing to push you.
Next time I need to find a larger club and position myself strategically.
