The location has a bar downstairs for chilling and talking, a club upstairs for dancing.
My single friend and I spent the evening in the bar with a bunch of friends. We were being dared to use cheesy chat up lines on different women in the bar - works a treat as openers. "Is your hand heavy? I could hold it for you?" etc. Our social proof was very good until most people migrated upstairs at midnight to dance.
We danced for an hour but returned downstairs, and we sat on a sofa in a largely empty bar.
SUDDENLY two girls bounded over to us and sat down with us. They were looking for coke. "We should get some coke together". I said things like "If you're only here for the coke I'm not down" and "You've just come to hit on us haven't you".
For 45 mins we chatted and they didn't mention coke again. We had a little dance together, we told them stories, they were both showering us with IOIs. Touching, long eye contact, lots of flirting. Looked like it was in the bag. I'd given one of them my scarf; a long, black, tassly thing. I love it.
The place closed so my friend and I went to collect our coats. It took two minutes, and the girls had run off. Nowhere to be seen. They stole my fucking scarf.
I am genuinely confused as to what happened. They were flirtatious, responsive, we didn't buy them drinks etc.
Please be a detective. Ask me questions and make me realise what we did wrong.
Thanks!
It's not what you did do, it's what you didn't do.
Did you isolate?
Make a move?
Change location?
Pick one out of the heard?
Get sexual?
Escalate?
Forget it was free gay scarf day?
