THE SPOT: gym, outside, jacuzzi
THE GIRL: fake blonde, 5 feet tall, nice tits, looks a little older, Argentinian.
Long workout, were both in the jacuzzi with two other guys. Its a large jacuzzi.
I start off with a line saying - "doesn't it feel like were in an elevator, stuck next to each other yet not talking"
She doesn't hear a word i say because a train passes by at the same instant... I think that was a good thing, terrible line. should have just said hi.
Good thing is, she didn't hear what I said, yet she responds promptly, "I can't hear too well I'm a little deaf on one ear. "
We talk for an hour. We click. We have plans, we both love the beach, volleyball, she wants to go skydive. She has issues, shes been in 4 failed engagements. Shes 30. She seems to like me. Shes asks my age, I'm 25, she no longer shows interest.
Shortly after we get out of the jacuzzi, and we end up chit chatting a bit on a bench, I tell her i want to grab a cup of coffee with her someplace. Get to know her better.
She makes age an issue, I tell her its no big deal, its just a number.
By the way, I don't have my phone its in the locker room. I ask her to grab her phone and call me, I told her I'll text her back something funny and we'll go out. Or she can just ignore my text if shes not interested.
She focuses on the age again. She calls. Call does not go through, no reception. I ask her to send me a text. She fakes it.
We have a small discussion about the age thing. I say bye to her.

Where I fucked up: I focused on the bad. I tried to make her feel better about her age. Which in turn made her feel older.
Stupid. So stupid I can't stop laughing.

What I learned from this:
1) If a girl has some kind of insecurity, such as her age, don't try to make her feel better about it, because then you are acknowledging something is wrong. Instead, brush it off as no big deal, because it really is not.
2) Always carry your phone with you. ALWAYS! I had no exit strategy, I wanted to cut it short. But I couldn't leave until she did, because she had the phone.

What I should have done: In my opinion, the way to go here was to make her feel stupid about it. Indirectly. What I should have said was "look, im 25, you are 30, yet we still had an awesome conversation for more than an hour, but if you don't want to talk, thats cool."
I pushed too hard to prove her wrong. Lesson learned.
BTW I'm very new at pickup.
