Cheers.

I've been learning the game for roughly a year now. I've got numbers, kisses and sex, as well as girlfriends. I also have strong confidence. I have no problem with believeing in myself, thinking I'm hot, seeing myself as attractive, never letting someone else control me and so on. However...

.. i have a serious problem.

From time to time during the last few months I have suffered form a lack of motivation. It's not only killing my game, it's also killing me - slowly. What's the point of getting out of bed when I know it's no good? Today it took me two hours before I got up. What's the point of studying and careing about homework? Well - I get it logically. I do what I'm supposed to so that other people can put a label on me, on how "good" I am. I feel like my life has no meaning.

Still, I can game girls. I have no reasons to feel this way. I have two girls who likes me, and they would be rated as sevens on a scale from one to ten.

So I have confidence sometimes, and sometimes I feel like bad. Or worse - nothing. I have tried to analyse myself, but the limited success I got was apparently not enough.

I am now willing to do anything. I've been worse off before, and I'm not going back. Does any PUA at this forum know what I can do in order to restore myself? I find it hard to follow advice on confidence on this forum, since I sometimes have it, and sometimes lack motivation for living, and therefore confidence.

I'm greatful for any help recieved.

/Facher

I have had similar problems with bouts of depression. The key for me is to know my "triggers", and to know how I can counteract them. For me, I go and work out or play some basketball. This gets me out of the house, doing something physical, and interacting with people.

Also, I try to pay more careful attention to my diet. I eat more healthy, and avoid foods high in sugar, artificial chemicals, etc. A lot of the causes of depression can be linked to diet.

If these things don't work, and it's more serious you might want to consider seeing a therapist, or trying medication.

Hope this helps.

Emotional swings can be caused by stuff like "wrong" diet.
Rapid changes in levels of blood sugar etc.

Depending on who you trust the most you can assume it is chemical and that a change of what you take in may lead to a more stable emotional situation. Or you can assume it's psychological, and expect some prick with a diploma to help you for $500 an hour over a period of years.

It's perfectly normal, though. I'm willing to bet that everyone here has experienced your situation.

As for remedies, changing diet was mentioned, get a workout program started. Hobbies or interests are good.
For some meditation is a great help, you might want to try several things, see what works for you.

I personally use drawing or painting as a form of meditation; Whenever I do these activities I go into an altered state, where I loose my sense of self.

Medication is probably no help, at best the current medication, like prozac etc. only remove emotion more... making you........... Less motivated, haha.. the irony.

You may find an interest in spiritual jumbo may give you some new viewpoints. Personally I have an interest in Quantum physics, Zen Buddhism, Shamanism, etc. Which currently help me make sense of the world.... which I think is total madness.

Where to begin ?
Personally I recommend you Look into Robert Anton Wilson. He had/has some great understandings of how the world seems to work, and he has to me, been a great introduction to the worlds of metaphysics and understanding of the human situation.
I stumbled upon him through a collection of NLP and Hypnosis e-books and seminars, particularly a collection named "Robert Anton Wilson Explains Everything"
(His name has popped up through strange acts of synchronicity throughout the last year)

Thanks for the contribution Kleen =).

I'm aware that I have triggers, however, I don't know what's causing them. Or, to be more exakt, I don't know what the triggers are, and what's fireing them off.

One day, I had a girl over, we made out, and she's really into me. The next day, at a party, I don't get anything from any girl. Why do I feel like no girls like me? I mean, I can see that there is some belief within me.. but I don't know exactly WHAT it is, and HOW it triggered. This is deep analysis, and I'm stuck.

I think the key is not to over-analyze. When you know you trigger has been activated, in other words, when you start to feel negative or unmotivated, do SOMETHING, ANYTHING, to break that pattern. Go out and run a block, do 20 pushups, blast your favorite song, start whistling, WHATEVER WORKS! Don't even give yourself time to think about it. The more you do this the less often you will encounter this emotional state.

Also, if you made out with a girl at a party, she was obviously into you. Even if it was only one time, it disproves your belief that girls don't like you.

I feel the same way.

Just that I've not bothered to practice any game yet.

I'm at university at the moment, living in halls. I'm not the most loved person there but people are nice to me. I don't want to go fucking up the way people see me by making some massive change to myself. I tried acting alpha but felt like I was just coming across as cocky and nothing else.

I read plenty, but I lack the motivation to put any of it into practice. I question my own motives. As I am now I just read about it for fun, since it sates my desire for analyising everything.

Carbonated dude that sounds lame. I mean why study the whole thing if u never practice it? Being alpha doesnt mean being a jerk, view it as being more social more talkative and pleasant with people u dont know.

As for Facher: all the things ppl above me said about diet and work out are completely true and essential. We shouldnt forget our physical body we are just evolved animals. if dogs are happy chasing freesbies and lying under the sun we should be happy too (at least i am). It is normal to feel depressed like 2-3 days per month. When I find myself in hard times I usually make plans on something that I love doing even though it's kinda unreal and I know it. I mean if you have a dream of being a rockstar (i.e.) then start learning guitar and write a few songs.U might not end up a rockstar but you will enjoy the proccess and that's all about it.

Are you telling me you'll never absorb information from something with no plan to take part in it?

That's all I want.

I don't really care for the pickup itself, at least at the moment, I just enjoy reading about social psychology.

no of course you can absorb info and learn things but you just observe life. I mean knowing how things work and be afraid to use it is lame. After all it's all about having fun mate.
