Like someone posted above, if you are really feeling this way of approaching life; then it`s an epic approach. You are doing it right.
I mean, isn`t it what every single one of us wishes in our life? To act detached, not giving a fuck, as if there is no tomorrow, as you were about to die?
Perhaps you can give us some intel on how did you approached your meditation practice for us to try it.
To be honest, I wish I had that kind of mindset, even thou I`m not doing bad, I`m totally sure I can be better. And that`s what`s all about, being a better man everyday.
It's hard to remember now, but I created the mindset out of all the below:
1.
Philosophy of Death, Life and Existance.
Just ask yourself what death, life and existance means to you.
To me life is a blink before death, life is what happens right now, what I am enjoying right now.
Death frees you of any responsibility to the world, so you may do as you wish if you have no fear of dieing.
Existance is grey, logic and dull. Everything in this world is meaningless and valueless, just particles floating around. Girls are just bodies and nothing else, just animals. Processes running through their minds.
2.
Finding what you truly want and ignoring everything else.
Example.
There're 2 girls, they're both enemies to each other and would hate YOU for going for the other. What do you do? You take a girl anyways, no matter she hates you or not.
3.
Mind Maps.
Remnember that there's NOTHING out of your mind that may affect you. You ALWAYS have everything you need and you're ALWAYS in charge of your thoughts and emotions. Try changing the way you feel, I mean, not your expression but your true feelings of right now. If you lead yourself to work you could feel bad, if you lead yourself to pleasures you could feel good. And all that's in the moment, right now, for you to choose.
4.
Detachment from the society, losing the need for other people, becoming independent.
If you don't NEED the girl and just WANT the girl you always have more options.
5.
2 types of meditation.
1 TYPE: (freedom)
Notice yourself from a control screen. YOU'RE not in the game, YOU'RE not the human being, YOU'RE not the human mind, YOU'RE the being behind the screen just watching and controlling everything that happens to the human. You're a god. Imagine playing a video game, like GTA, you can doing anything you want to, right? So why not IRL? Who's gonna punish you? You could die, if it's a moment well lived, I get that you DON'T want to die, but what DO you want then? Do you want to play a game? What kind of a game? What is YOUR life?
2 TYPE: (emotional/values/pleasure)
Put up a chilled song that you know WILL give you calming, slight emotions.
Songs like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cFlyTOiOng and this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW1z_Q3DHWg work well for me.
Remember it's to notice your emotions on a deep level not to make you into a romance addicted sweet guy weirdo, you won't become that if you don't choose to.
Let the song play and just relax.
Pay attention to every word specifically here: Let everything flow. Let the song come into your mind and touch your deepest depths. Keep asking yourself "Do I have a heart? Do I have a soul? Do I have emotions?" and keep answering correctly to those questions. You could even start crying (I know it's not manly but whatever right?) or shout I HAVE A HEART, I HAVE A SOUL, while you meditate like this.
KNOW that you have EMOTIONS,
don't try to amplify them, watch them, act on them or anything else, they may dissappear. Just let them be there and acknowledge them as a center of your life. (They actually are, philosophically, the only source of pleasure in ones life.)
6.
Internal focusing.
With all this, the internal focus might've come on it's own but here's some help if you need to deepen it anyways.
"I need the society." Why? What are you gaining in your life because of society? How much of the society do you need? What could happen if you live quietly on your own? Would you become more powerful? Can you be dominant without so many friends around you? (Yeah, you can.)
Think about your own interests, wants, beliefs, don't focus on what he/she/them and really anyone wants. Why would you anyways? What do you have to gain?
ASK YOURSELF A LOAD OF QUESTIONS ALL THE TIME.
I went through massive depressions and nerve problems while I struggled with understanding this mindset, but I still think it's good to know and have.
ASK ME ANYTHING IF YOU NEED TO. (I might've missed or added something too much, so sorry if I have.)
Oh, yeah and remember... life is about enjoyment, so have fun as much as you can and take freedom into moderance. You don't have to consistently show off that I can do that and I can do that, do you want to? No. You want to enjoy life, may it be peacefully, may it be hardcore, it's your choice. (I'm a peaceful type myself.)
