I am in the habit of speaking in stream-of-concious, and responding as soon as I have anything to say.

I want to stop doing this.

What exercises sepecifically would you suggest to help me become more reserved?

Chances are that you might not see out of other their (body) language that you're behaviour is not accepted (I've been told it's common for men to be less able to judge body language). However, it can well be the case that somebody confronts you directly with it. Happened to me a few years ago. Result? I STFU.

What might also be the case is, that you're mind is working on a sort of auto-pilot. Relaxing and chilling out would then be my solution at least. And not stopping your behavior but fully wiping out your thought.
