| I'm assuming you're refering to avatar as in your image, not the pic to the left? Damn you Mystery for using that word in your VH1 show!
There's one word I like to use when I'm trying to improve someone's image. "Congruence". You need to have congruence with your image. If you are more of a goth person and you wear diamond (especially fake) diamond earrings, then you are going against everything else that you are. If you are a gangster type and that type of stuff impresses people and it fits with your self-image, then sure, go nuts. Although I personally don't like to get "fake" things, its too try-hard in my opinion, if you can't afford something then don't pretend you can, you're just doing yourself a disservice.
Personally I wouldn't ever try to pull off diamond earrings, fake or otherwise, just because its not congruent with the rest of my image. Currently in my right ear I have a 14g stainless barbell industrial (getting a lightning bolt made out of a chunk of stainless, with tribal carved into it), in my left ear, I have 4 rings in the top cartilage each one slightly less thick than the next going upwards, silver, gold, bronze and black. Now, its not a look that just anyone is gonna be able to use, because its kinda artistic and alternative, but that's my image, that's my Frame. _________________ "The 'Brick Walls' are there to allow you to prove how badly you want something!" ~ Randy Pausch
