I am currently taking a year off of college. I thought it was the right decision at the time and now I have to follow through with it. My grades where slipping and I was on the brink of being kicked out of school (2.0 gpa). My plan was to work, sarge and save up some money on the side (haha or try to at least) and in the process get motivated to finish college. I couldnt have picked a worse time to take a year off. The economy blows. Ive been out of a job for over a month and ive been applying like mad. To make matters worse, my car blew an apex seal so I dont even have transportation. To top it all of, im living with my parents. Getting numbers isnt a problem, I got that on lock, but I am at a loss of what to do afterwards with my given situation. Bringing girls back to my parents house isnt cool. I dont have a car to drive them around in or the cash to spend on them. Im sharing this with the forum to get me more motivated and get suggestions. I know some of you will flame me for taking a year off, but I made my decision and have to live with it. Mystery talked about the three legged stool with the legs being health wealth and relationships and all of them have to be in balance. I have health and some relationships but the wealth part is really bringing me down. BLAH!
It happened to me a few years ago and unfortunately getting a job is the only way I could find to solve the problem. Keep sending CVs like a madman and see what can you do in the meantime to be more attractive for a possible employer (i.e: learn new skills). Happy job hunting
