Just wondering if any of you are involved in the Mergers & Acquisitions business. I'm an aspiring banker and am trying trying to land an internship for this coming summer. I'm a senior and I'm extremely determined to move up in the world. If anyone has any insight I'd greatly appreciate it.

I work for a holdings company myself. There are tons, and most medium to large businesses are looking to buy, integrate, spinoff and sell, or they are looking to get sold.

What is it specifically you want to know?

I want to know what I need to do to secure an internship this summer. I've been networking for a year now, and not much has come of it yet. Everyone seems at least moderately impressed with my resume. Do you know of any specific openings? I can e-mail you my resume if you pm me your e-mail.

Résumé doesn't matter much at this point. Just apply for as many as possible.

When you interview, make sure you convince them you know about the company and really want to work for them.

That's another point I need to address - what do I need to tell the interviewers to convince them that I specifically want to work for their company.

At this point, I really don't mind who because I will be lucky to get into the corporate finance industry at all. I'm at a state school which is definitely not ivy league caliber.

Go to linked in and Forbes websites and google some interview articles. There is tons of info out there.

I actually work in integration on the finance and IT side, so my background in financial and IT systems landed me my current role. Its becoming more and more important in todays workplace since everything is about big data, integration, and virtualization. It brings a whole new aspect to scaling because systems integration allows for a much larger removal of unnecessary employs, it hardware, and physical assets.

Read Harvard business review. You'll learn more than you did in all 4 years of college.

I've heard that from a few guest lecturers in our investment group.

I'll be sure to read that. Thank you
