Wrong.Negs are a TOOL to pick them up,not the deciding factor.

So much depends on the presentation,the approach,how congruent you are with the material,and how well you can keep your composure.

Thatbamaguy probably executed that(I'll be honest,ineffective)opener,and it came out with near-perfect form,to the point where the girl responded more to his confidence and congruety than the neg itself.

Hmm, I think she responded to the confidence more than anything. I used the "crusty stuff in her eye" neg...made it casual...then just kept talking. Then I said something....a big word..she called it. I cant remember what I actually said for some reason. I told her she should invest in a dictionary, and made her laugh with a big shit eating grin.

I had another thought too. With me, when I game, its not really about what opener I use, to me they are just ways to initiate conversation. Which I know thats what they are for...but I dont really think about it when I start. I just kinda say the first thing that comes to my mind...with total confidence.

Also...It's alot of fun to open with a neg...sure its a 50/50 chance you'll come off like a dick, but when it works out...I find it jump starts the whole pickup.

Oh and back to the beginning, if they say like 4:40 instead of 4:42 or something, you can just start like this: "did you round that off? You know my friend(or sister or whatever) was just telling me that people who round their time off aren't as open to talking, and they usually just want to end the conversation as fast as they can, i don't believe that but do you think that's true?"

then go back to what I stated earlier...

I actually advise you make up your own crap, it's better for you in the long run.... i've been using this for a while and improvise it on the spot... that's what usually happens after something has been in the can for a while
