i'm a total AFC and the pick-up is not my thing, but I just read the Game and it kind of inspired me, just like I'm sure it did for many others on this forum. So right before I went out with some friends to a cool San Francisco lounge/bar this past friday night I read some posts on this forum and was inspired again, although I didnt think I would actually use the info. Surprisingly I did even though I had no idea what I was doing, so please critique my game or lack thereof.

After I had a few beers in me I decide to open with this HB7 that just sat down by herself a few feet away from us. I walked over to her, touched her arm, and delivered the opener:

"Are you shy or something? sit over here with us."
I think I read this opener on this forum that very night, and I can't believe I used it. I thought it worked well because it's a cocky line so just delivering it makes you feel more confident and it's a good neg.

"No, I'm not shy, I'm just people watching." She then gets up and sits across from me. then we talk for a while about a bunch of unimportant bs: the bar, who's she there with, our jobs, where she's from, etc. I wasn't keeping track of IOIs.

Whenever the conversation hit a lull I would turn away from her abruptly and just start ignoring her and talking to my friends. I think this was effective because she was by herself so when I started talking to her again it made her happy.

At one point she asked how old I thought she was. I told her 39. Her reaction was severe. I then touched her leg, smiled, and said I was just joking. She was 28.

Anyway, one of my friends (AFC with a girlfriend no less), gives her his biz card. I have no idea why. Soon after that we got up and left her there.

So I didnt close, but it was still fun and unexpected. please critique!

Very Nice... It sounded like you went in having a few ideas, not just merely inspired by PUA stuff and inventing things as you went, always a formula for success there. The fact that you werent trying to keep track of IOIs may actually be another good sign because the more you behave like your not into this stuff the better at it you become... an interesting paradox.

If I had a suggestion you may want to read up on multi-threading the conversation so that it doesn't go boring... what you did seems to have worked but if you want another way to approach that situation, multi threading and the idea that if you start the conversation its your job to supply 80-90% of it and keep it alive.

Good job man

That was damn good advice. I just read this page (http://www.seductiontuition.com/sparky/ ... ading.html) and it put into words some techniques I have kind of been thinking about but couldnt pin down. Can't wait to try it out.
